We & 4 of our neighbors finally had our dead front yard trees removed (from the Feb. 2021 freeze)

We had been in the 12-18 month process of preparing for brain surgery to treat seizures when this MRI (March) revealed a benign SEGA tumor that would need attention. We switched gears from planning for surgery to planning for chemotherapy and waited for another scan in July to make a decision.

July scan showed the tumor has stabilized and won’t need chemo! Bradley’s first set of MRIs confirmed that he has the same genetic condition as Abbott (TS) as well as a handful of brain tubers that we’ll continue to monitor. The only way we got through two kids with two MRIs in one day is knowing we were going to the beach when it was over.

Eleven years!

I don’t want to talk about it

✌🏻

In a year of the lowest low/worst health news, somehow it ended with Abbott being one year seizure free on December 7. No surgery needed for the foreseeable future!

Sharing this story ended up being a really important part of healing for me. Photos were from a “Hallelujah Party” at my childhood home church.

We always end with a cheers pic, this time featuring Sunday night laundry.
